Description
The origin of the Cardinal slice, like so many other popular cakes, goes back to the time of the Monarchy. According to several sources, it is clearly of Austrian origin, just like the Sacher cake or the Isler.
This dessert is traditionally made with homemade apricot jam, but you can also order it with homemade strawberry or raspberry jam.
